The Brief
Calastone is the world’s largest global funds network, connecting many of the world’s leading financial organisations. With a presence in 57 markets and a client base of over 4,500, Calastone processes an impressive £250 billion in investment value every month.
Headquartered in London, the company’s network extends across major financial centres including New York, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
In a major milestone, Calastone recently completed its acquisition by SS&C Technologies Holdings, Inc., in a deal valued at approximately £766 million (US $1.03 billion). This integration will enable clients to benefit from enhanced distribution, improved investor servicing, and greater operational scalability.
In 2024, Calastone partnered with Motel to strengthen brand consistency and communication. We began by refreshing their suite of brochureware materials and updating their Brand Guidelines, followed by the design of their 2023 and 2024 ESG Reports.
Our Approach
We developed a cohesive design system to create a consistent look and feel across all materials, including corporate and services brochures, product and data sheets, and whitepapers. Every asset was updated to align with Calastone’s refreshed branding — from graphic styles and colour palettes to typography. We also expanded Calastone’s Brand Guidelines to incorporate the new brochure suite, ensuring consistent application of brand elements across all communications.
Calastone’s first Sustainability Report centred on the theme “Our commitment to sustainability.” Our goal was to deliver a distinctive and ownable ESG report that told a compelling sustainability story. To achieve this, we created a new visual identity for the report, developing original imagery that blended technology and data-driven motifs with organic, nature-inspired visuals. We introduced a new data visualisation approach and designed an intuitive, interactive PDF — combining brand consistency with an engaging, memorable user experience that reinforced Calastone’s dedication to a sustainable future.
Following the success of the 2023 report, we were commissioned to design the 2024 edition, themed “Progressing with Purpose.” Building on the previous year’s foundation, we created a fresh visual language inspired by ideas of progress, flow, and positive projection. New imagery and refined data visualisations gave the report a cohesive yet forward-looking aesthetic. Alongside maintaining the interactive functionality, we introduced motion graphics to transform static content into dynamic digital experiences — enhancing engagement and bringing Calastone’s ESG narrative to life.
